Our Parish has over 3,000 families in our community, a parish school, and 45 organizations and activities for all ages.  How do you communicate all that information to the Parish?

 

We are blessed to have the Communications Commission who works together with the Parish Pastoral Council to communicate the works, events, accomplishments, and needs of our Parish Community.

 

The Communications Commission consists of six dedicated parishioners who help coordinate articles for the bulletin; prepare the Parish newsletter (Reflections), news releases, the monthly calendar, publicity, our website, and provide general computer skills and support for the rectory and the school.

 

The commission consists of three key areas; Publicity, Parish News, and Computer Support.

 

Publicity receives requests (see publicity request form) and works through the bulletin, Pittsburgh Catholic, Citizen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, FYI channel, and monthly calendar to make sure all of the activities reach each potential media and our Parish Community.

 

Parish News consists of the Reflection insert you see in the bulletin and allows our parishioners the opportunity to read and reflect on the current liturgical season. 

 

The Computer Support function of our committee involves the upkeep of our church and school websites, graphic design support, and data entry skills

 

We also provide clerical support with large mailings and bulletin inserts.

Please register your e-mail address so we can communicate more effectively and save money by reducing mass mailings to those who need it most.  This will also allow us to communicate important Parish and Diocesan information more timely.

 

It is really simple, go to the main page of our website; either www.assumptionchurch.org or www.assumptionschool.org and enter your e-mail address in the box at the bottom of the website.  From there, you will automatically be directed to select the types of updates you would like to receive.  It is that simple.

 


 

Are you interested in helping out???

We can always use an extra set of hands.  If you have any time or talents you would like to share with us, we are always looking for parishioners to author articles and we can always use software expertise.  For example, if you are good at publishing software or have strong computer skills, we would love to hear from you.  Feel free to offer as much or as little time as you can spare.  Even an hour every other month would be a welcome investment.  Click on the link below and let us know how you can help J
