Religious Education Cell Phone Policy

We, at Assumption, respect your wishes if you allow your child to carry a cell phone.  It makes a child feel secure to know that s/he could contact you within seconds should an emergency arise. 

At the same time, we are accountable for your child when s/he is in CCD.  If s/he gets sick during class or needs to talk to you for any reason, the call must be made through the Religious Education Office.  Please call the office (412.766.4046) if you need to get a message to your child, and someone will get your child from class.

All cell phones should be off during class time.  In the event that your son or daughter is receiving or making personal calls or text messaging during class, the catechists have been instructed to take the phone from the student.  Should this happen, the parent has to come to the office to get the phone.
