Mission Statement

To the greater glory of God and in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,

The Church of the Assumption was established in Bellevue, Pennsylvania.

We work together as Roman Catholics and members of the Church of the Assumption

to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our parish family.

With the Eucharist as the center of our faith, and strengthened by the Holy Spirit,

we use our gifts and talents to manifest the presence of Jesus Christ

within our parish and our community.

2010 Parish Share Information

The Parish Share Program (PSP) for 2010 has begun. Assumption’s assessment this year is $116,960. Each parish in the diocese is assessed an amount, considered to be their fair share, for maintenance and creations of diocesan-sponsored programs that benefit parishes and individuals in our diocese. Some of these programs have immediate benefits, such as Catholic Charities’ free health clinic or counseling program. Some funds are allotted to training future priests for the diocese or for classes to train catechists for our children.

A very real benefit for our parish is that any amount collected for the PSP, over and above our assessed amount, remains right here at Assumption to be used (tax-free) for whatever parish project or need we identify. So thank you for your generosity, and please continue to help us reach and exceed our PSP goal again this year.

Assumption School Enrollment

Assumption School is currently enrolling students for the school year of 2010-2011 in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Please call the school office for more information about enrollment, as well as financial aid assistance (412.761.7887).
